Toes carefully maintained
With or without polish

I see tanakha cheeks
In a country full of mystery
Secrets of people never heard off
With or without a voice

I see women and men in this room
In a country kind and gentle
Speaking up for those
With or without power

I see flip flop fashion

Or is it her story?

Person of inspiration: The Lady as she is called in Myanmar is an inspiration for many, but there are more woman like the Lady, that equally deserve her respect. This was written for one of these woman.

It always happens on the first day
the gift of no expectation, no experience

to let the rain fall in advance
or the sunshine raise your spirit

it’s the flow of gentle events unfolding
the cat in the chair, curling up to play

the sea engulfing your body with the taste of dried salt
or the music read by the poet

giving back the rhythm and rhyme of life
in all its imperfection
